How well do smart bottles record a sip?
Cohen, Fernie and Roshan Fekr compared 100 intake events per bottle across four commercially available models with measurements from a scale. The study found differences in missed recordings and sip-volume estimates—useful context for designing and testing the next generation of intake tracking.

Study scope: H2OPal, HidrateSpark 3, HidrateSpark Steel and Thermos Smart Lid were tested. This paper did not test GULPR or HidrateSpark PRO 2; it does not establish GULPR accuracy, superiority or market demand.
